Before joining the list...

We feel that the The Fixx email list is one of the best communities on the net. In order to keep it positive, you are asked to follow these guidelines. We feel these guidelines are necessary to insure that everyone has a good time and keep moderation of the list to a minimum.

	Please trim all unnecessary quoted text from your post. If you are replying to a digest, please cut and paste the relevent material from the post to which you are replying. Please read the followup posting guide for more.
	If you change the topic in your followup, please change the "Subject" line accordingly. If you are replying to a digest, change the subject line from "Lighthouse - The Fixx Mail Digest" to something appropriate.
	Please, no flaming on the list. Rude responses, personal attacks, or directly insulting other list members will not be tolerated. If this happens, the offender will be reminded to follow these rules. Continued attacks may cause the offender to be removed from the list. Note that this does not mean that spirited discussions and arguments cannot take place on the list. They can, but people are encouraged to argue about ideas instead of insulting the individual that they disagree with. If you're in doubt, repeat this mantra to yourself while writing your response: "attack ideas, not people". If you do feel attacked by someone on the list, do not post directly to the list saying: "Bob personally attacked me! Take him off the list!". Instead, please send mail to admin@thefixx.org.
	Please do not post computer virus warnings to the list, even if they are about real viruses.
	Off topic posts occur on the list with some frequency. People should try and keep the length of these discussions to a few days. If you notice yourself getting into a deep non-Fixx related conversation with just a couple of list members and it goes past a few days, it's requested (but not required) that you try and move the discussion off-list. When starting an off-topic discussion, please include the words "Off Topic" or "OT" in the subject line.

If you cannot abide by these rules, or if they offend your belief in freedom of speech, please ask to be removed from the list.
